Had wonderful visit with Dr. Fisher. He listened to me as I explained my symptoms and he explained what my problem was. He also went over the medication he was prescribing and the reason for them.. Very attentive and very professional ..

Dr. Bret E. Fisher received his bachelor of science in biology form Penn State University in University Park, Pennsylvania, and his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Fisher performed his internship at Community Hospital Lancaster in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and his residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Stratford, New Jersey. He is board certified in internal medicine.
Dr. Fisher chose to practice internal medicine due to the broad scope and challenge the specialty presents, and was awarded the Faculty Attending Physician of Year in 2004 at Memorial Osteopathic Hospital in York, Pennsylvania. Dr. Fisher believes Sumter has been a great place to raise his family, and enjoys running and spending time with his wife and two daughters.

He seemed rushed and stressed. In previous visits, the emphasis was on documenting things the government required for a "good doctor" rating, such a checking my feet for swelling, etc.. This time, he indicated that he could only spend 10 minutes with a patient. When my time was up, he was gone in a flash, leaving me with instructions for more lab work and a follow-up appointment in 3-4 weeks. I believe he is an excellent doctor, but I left feeling that I had not received as high a quality of medical care as I have previously received from him. I have even recommended him to several of my friends who were looking for a good doctor.
