Dr. Brett Nash grew up in the Joliet area. He attended both Shorewood and Joliet schools. His mother worked for silver cross hospital as a pharmacist and his father worked for Argonne National Laboratory as a nuclear chemist. As a child Dr. Nash suffered from irritable bowel syndrome. His mother had him try different medications, doctors and diets to help with his symptoms but nothing seemed to work. As a teenager Brett worked for Osco pharmacy as a pharmacy technician and he began to see that people were coming in month after month to get the same drugs and they weren't getting any better. He wondered if this was where health came from; it definitely didn't seem like it. Brett met his first chiropractor at Joliet junior college and started to job shadow him in his office. On his first visit he followed the doctor around as he saw his patients. He was also adjusted on his first visit to the office. After several adjustments Brett noticed that his irritable bowel syndrome wasn't bothering him anymore. He thought it was a miracle and decided to pursue a career as a chiropractor.
After undergraduate school at Eastern Illinois University he went away to Palmer College of chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Palmer College was the first chiropractic college and was founded in 1897. Once there he learned all about human anatomy, physiology, and most importantly neurology. He discovered that it wasn't so much a miracle that after a spinal adjustment his IBS went away, it was more just how the body works. During his time at Palmer College he learned both full spine adjustments and studied upper cervical chiropractic outside of his core curriculum. After graduating with honors in February of 2008 he opened an office in Joliet and has practiced successfully ever since.
