Dr. Carissa Pessia received her Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Hearing Science from The Ohio State University in 2013 before earning her Doctorate of Audiology from Ohio University in 2017. She completed her graduate clinicals in a variety of locations in West Virginia and Alabama, and her residency at an ENT office in Huntington, West Virginia. Dr. Pessia grew up in Gallipolis and has called both Columbus and Athens “home” while completing her schooling. She recently moved back to Gallipolis after living in Mobile, Alabama while her husband was completing his medical residency. While in Mobile, Dr. Pessia worked at a large ENT group where she provided care for patients from infancy to adulthood in a variety of ways including hearing evaluations, balance testing, and amplification. Here at Ohio Hearing & Audiology, Dr. Pessia strives to provide her patients with the best care and latest in hearing technology by offering hearing evaluations and hearing aid services. Dr. Pessia resides in Gallipolis with her husband (a local Pediatrician), their baby girl, and their two dogs. Outside of Audiology, she is a 4-H advisor in Gallia County and enjoys spending time with family and friends, all sorts of crafting, and, of course, cheering on the Buckeyes!
