Dr. Retief has been practicing Dermatology since 1999 bringing her experience and artistic eye to the Middle Tennessee area. Trained in Dermatology, Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Reconstructive Surgery, Laser Surgery, and Cosmetic surgery, she can offer many state of the art treatments for your skin conditions. Currently, Dr. Retief removes 800-1000 skin cancers per year using Mohs Micrographic Surgery. She also performs a variety of cosmetic procedures and surgeries under local anesthesia. Dr. Retief is an expert in the management of facial skin cancer and advanced minimally invasive cosmetic techniques performed with local anesthesia.
She was one of approximately 40 dermatologists in the world to begin a Mohs Micorgraphic Surgery Fellowship,emphasizing skin oncology, Mohs Micrographic, Laser, and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Retief was fortunate enough to train under the current President of the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. During this intensive surgical fellowship, she performed over 1,000 Mohs Surgery and Reconstructive cases in addition to hundreds of Cosmetic surgery and Laser cases.
Personally, Dr. Retief is married to Cliff Retief, a native of Johanesburg, South Africa. They have one daughter, Elle.
