Working with children is the joy of my life. As they grow, every age offers special delights that enhance my relationship with my patients. I also really love science, investigation, learning, and challenges, so pediatrics makes for an ideal combination.
My philosophy is that I can provide better care when I develop a good relationship with the family. I see myself as partner and mentor, much like a personal trainer, but in an emotional and developmental way. I have three grown children of my own (and wonderful grandchildren). My experience raising them to be kind, caring human beings constantly informs my advice and treatment recommendations to my patients and their families.
I strive to make parents feel confident in choosing what is best for their child. I want to be there for them, no matter what they are concerned about. It's easy to become overwhelmed and anxious with so much healthcare information available online. Families wonder if they are doing the right thing, but often there is more than one right choice. I look at all the possibilities and come up with a sound diagnosis and treatment approach uniquely tailored to the child that parents feel good about.
