I had a dermatology appointment today, and while my experience with the doctor and her assistant was excellent, the front desk interaction was lacking.
Upon entering, I was not greeted warmly by the receptionist, and I had to repeat my name a couple of times. After providing my insurance card and ID, she handed me an iPad to fill out a lengthy form while I was still standing in my coat. There was no follow-up or guidance; I felt unsure about what to do next after returning the iPad.
Fortunately, the doctor was wonderful and addressed my concerns thoroughly. The checkout process was much better, as the staff member was friendly and helpful.
Overall, I hope the front desk can improve their welcoming approach, as it significantly impacts the first impression of the practice. I look forward to my next visit.
