Dr. Stayer trained in Adult Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in a fellowship for clinician-researchers at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and Children’s Hospital, Washington D.C. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine and the American Academy of Anti-Aging, Functional, and Regenerative Medicine.
While attending medical school in Munich, Germany, Dr. Stayer worked in sleep physiology at the Max-Planck Institute for Psychiatry. She trained in Neurology and received a doctoral degree at the University of Heidelberg. Prior to medical training, she studied Traditional Chinese Medicine in Oakland, California and Wuhan, China and subsequently worked as a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in Berkeley, California. She is a graduate of UC Berkeley with double majors in Biophysics and Neurobiology.
Dr. Stayer has research experience in Childhood-onset Schizophrenia, Tourette’s and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, sleep physiology, neurology, and pediatric psychopharmacology. She has authored numerous articles in neurology and psychiatry. She is board certified in both Adult and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and in Anti-Aging Medicine by the American Academy of Anti-Aging, Functional, and Regenerative Medicine.
