About Cecilia Cruz Martinez

Hi, I’m Cecilia Cruz, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with a background in nonprofit work, providing nutrition support to vulnerable and underserved communities in San Francisco. I earned my Bachelor's in Clinical Nutrition from California State University, Chico, and hold a Certificate in Dietetics from San Francisco State University. My passion for healing relationships with food grew from the idea that ‘food is medicine.’ This has inspired me to move away from the concept of “good” and “bad” foods, which often bring shame and guilt. Healing our relationship with food involves many layers, and I’m here to help guide that journey. I believe you are the expert of your own body, and my role is to listen and guide you as we work together to make sustainable goals that feel right to you. My Hispanic background has given me a deep appreciation for cultural foods and the tradition of sharing meals, which are closely tied to our health and well-being. This understanding has inspired me to provide meaningful diabetes care by honoring your unique experiences. I also recognize the importance of language in healthcare and am happy to support you in Spanish or English, whichever feels most comfortable.
