Dr. Hernandez was born in Honduras where he spent part of his childhood before going on to become the first physician in his family. He and his family relocated to the Houston area in 1988 where he graduated from high school in 1990. Dr. Hernandez continued his education at a community college, then transferred to Texas A&M University where he graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical science. Subsequently, he completed his graduate medical training at Texas A&M College of Medicine in 2001 and continued his post-graduate education at Methodist Hospitals of Dallas Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency from 2001–2005. There, he had the honor and responsibility of being chief resident of OB/GYN from 2004–2005. In 2008, he succesfully completed his board exam and became Board Certified with The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He considers it a privilege and an honor to provide medical care to women.
