When searching for a doctor, I was confident in seeing someone who was a neurologist, but yet practiced psychiatry and felt that I would get an accurate diagnosis as well as treatment. He has been the leader now in my overall healthcare and I could not be more pleased.

Originally from San Antonio, Dr. Covert divided his undergraduate education between the U.S. Air Force Academy and Trinity University in San Antonio. He pursued his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he was the recipient of multiple academic scholarships. He received residency training at Emory University in Atlanta and at The University of Arkansas School of Medicine. In order to keep his practice up-to-date, Dr. Covert participates in continuing psychological and law enforcement education and posts news segments on his personal website, sharing information from these activities.
Patients visiting Dr. Covert can receive a full range of psychiatric services. He provides individual and group psychotherapy, martial counseling, drug-abuse counseling, and evaluations for post-traumatic stress disorder, chronic pain, school failure, and closed-head injuries. On-site, computerized psychological, vocational, and educational testing is also available. New patients are offered appointments within 24 hours of their first contact. Dr. Covert also provides employment screenings for law enforcement agencies.

He was not a good fit either clinically or professionally. I terminated care from this provider because of not addressing the core issues for which I was seeing him. His personal demeanor was one of omniscience and arrogance, and did not seem willing to listen. Rather than focusing on the depression issue I was facing at the time, he only seemed concerned about weight and diet.
At the time, his practice didn’t accept insurance of any kind and seemed unwilling to provide adequate documentation to facilitate my seeking reimbursement from my insurance carrier.
I would never recommend this practice based on my experience.

Did not address my core concerns. Just kept prying for more ways to offer "services" (i.e. an ADDITIONAL multiple choice survey- that I had to pay an additional fee for, but asked the same questions as the original). Terrible bedside manner. No help.
I got the impression that he was out for money and not much else. (For instance, when I brought up settlement I'd received in an unrelated issue, he perked up to ask how much? Also, asked very prying questions about my steady income.)

If you have fallen for the scam as I did, report him to the Texas State Medical Board. This man has no business practicing medicine.

I will be reporting this physician to the Texas Medical board. Just wants money useless test so he can charge you more total waste of time. These types of doctors need to be put out of practice. Had the nerve to say he was the best in town, best in town has a two month wait list. I should have known better.

The most arrogant, unprofessional doctor I've ever seen. Asked irrelevant questions that made me feel completely inferior and dysfunctional and absolutely NO COMPASSION. He wants your money.

This is the most sinister person I have ever encountered. I felt physically afraid of him. He was disrespectful, sarcastic, bigoted, and insulting. His manner was intimidating. I believe his behavior was a complete violation of the Hippocratic Oath "to do no harm."
Please heed this message. Please Google Dr. Charles Covert. Then, wisely read all of the sites. For heaven's sake, do not bring a child to him.

I feel that Dr. Covert saved my life. I feel Ive had the best treatment and counseling. Im thankful for the help he's given me.

Dr. Covert has been on top of my medication. He was able to stabilize me when I regressed. Also, he is supportive of my treatment plan and assists me in getting the proper treatment approved. he is patient but encourages my growth, progress and satisfaction with my life.

I do not feel comfortable with this doctor. He wants to medicate instead of help. Glad to not be going to see him again. Went twice and was not pleased with his listening skills nor his bedside manner. Has a lot of horses in his office and breeds them. I can see how he gets all of his money.
