Dr. Alexander received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where she completed her internship in general surgery and residency in orthopedics followed by a hand and upper extremity fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine.
.Dr. Alexander is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Riordan Hand Society, Eggers Society, Ruth Jackson Society, Singleton Surgical Society and Alpha Omega Alpha. She serves on the Houston Academy of Medicine Board and the Memorial Hermann Hospital Board and is currently chairing the Memorial Hermann System Quality Committee.
Dr. Alexander is a former President of the Southwest Branch of the Harris County Medical Society and former Chief of Staff at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.
Dr. Alexander is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston. She volunteers at the Shriner's Burn Hospital in Galveston Texas and at Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children in Houston where she staffs the Congenital Hand Clinic. She and her husband have been active in medical mission work in Central America since 1992. Dr. Alexander was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She and her husband, Richard have four children and four grandchildren and reside in Houston, Texas
