Dr. Chase Blackford is a dedicated and compassionate Internal Medicine Physician, born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. His passion toward medicine stemmed from his work with the Civil Air Patrol, where he served as a first responder and field medic. He was later promoted to the commander of Squadron 302 and worked with the U.S. Air Force to train future recruits. He graduated Arizona State University with a bachelor’s in Microbiology, with a focus on disease management and epidemiology. For many years he worked with the county epidemiologic service to map the outbreak of HIV/AIDS within the underserved populations. He then transitioned to work with the Maricopa County Sherriff’s Department where he served as a first responder and a member of the Community Emergency Response Team. His experience as a first responder has shaped his patient care to emphasize compassion and perseverance. Dr. Blackford completed medical school at Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana, prior to attending residency in sunny Palm Springs, California. There he served as the chief medical student coordinator, with a passion to one day to become a teaching physician.

I have not had a good Physician since I left Florida. Dr. Blackford, and staff were all fantastic! I'm a RN, and this was the first real, thorough assessment and exam I have had since leaving Florida with a provider that I had for many years. I finally feel safe again! Dr Chase Blackford is a type of a doctor who understands how human’s body and its functions work together. To me, it was such a positive experience because the doctor was willing to explain to me all the necessary details how something impacts other organs in my own body.
He took his time and has shown an extraordinary care for my well being! I was actually being willing to listen to him which is not an easy task for any doctor to achieve with me…
But the most motivational and inspirational part of my excellent experience was that dr Blackford is by himself a patient who follows his own advice and who got himself healthy by making steady life changes.

I went in for a medication and wellness visit as a new patient. Dr. Blackford told me early in our appointment to let him know if anyone is ant-LGBTQIA at the clinic and he would kick them at. The problem is he used the term transgender is m during my appointment. While this may be a term used in the medical field y some, it's offensive and used as anti-tans & rhetoric. He also claimed I don't have OCD or autism because I'm not showing "classic" symptoms. He knew I was on meds for OCD, so it's a good thing I'm symptom free. He thought I don't have autism because "all autistic patients he knows" ask to have the light turned down or don't like him looking in their ears. Not all autistics are the same we're spectrum. He also gooted ant-tans medical "facts" that have been disproven medically.

Told Dr. Blackford I had bulge in lower right abdomen. Some days you can see it, others you can’t. Since it wasn’t visible on the day of my visit, Dr. Blackford glossed over it and just gave me a lecture on prostate cancer and other types of bulges near my groin area. Didn’t help at all. I tried to speak up and explain but my concerns were dismissed. Almost 4 months later and my bulge is still present. I will not be returning to him.

Dr. Blackford is a real problem solver, meaning he focuses on the science to determine the root cause of problems. He’ll help treat the symptoms then aggressively investigate the real drivers. I appreciate that his patient retention strategy is to demonstrate that he cares about your well-being first and foremost. He doesn’t waste time. I learned so much in first appointment and spoke with him multiple times in the days following. I have definitely found my new primary care provider.

Dr Blackford says he spends his free time reading about human genetics, physiology and biology. I believe him because he rapidly explained myriad factors that lead to overall wellness, based on gender, genetics, age and life style. I was quite impressed by how rapidly he could transition between topics and also bring everything back together again - for me to put it all into context for myself.
