Dr. Lefebvre is a native of Irvington, NY, a suburb of New York City. She attended Duke University for her undergraduate degree where she achieved honors in biology and economics. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. She then spent a research year at Duke University School of Medicine working in the departments of Infectious Diseases and Ophthalmology, leading to research publications and presentations.
Dr. Lefebvre continued on at Duke University School of Medicine for her medical school, during which time she continued her research in ophthalmology.She decided to pursue her residency training in ophthalmology at New York Medical College. During her residency training, she developed a research interest in corneal diseases. She then went on to complete a fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, under the mentorship of Dr. Richard Davis.
Dr. Lefebvre is married to Tom Lefebvre, a medical student at Duke University School Medicine who plans to become an orthopedic surgeon. They have 2 young children and live in Durham.
