About Dr. Cherie Hemsworth-Coffey

Professional Achievements and Associations: Member of Illinois Optometric Association. Clinical Certifications and Specialties: Primary Eye Care, Diabetic Exams. The reason I became an optometrist is: I wanted to become an optometrist from an early age because my optometrist sparked my interest in optometry. I also find the eye to be a fascinating part of our human body that I wanted to know more about. My favorite part of helping my patients is: It’s amazing knowing that we can impact a patient’s life not just by prescribing glasses and/or contact lenses that allows them to see, but also be able to diagnose ocular conditions and detect early signs of certain systemic conditions. I also enjoy making a personal connection with my patients as well. In my spare time, I enjoy: Going for walks and the movies with my husband, spending time with my family and friends, working out, reading, and traveling.
