Dr. Woods is originally from Charleston, West Virginia. She attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, graduating in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Food, Nutrition, and Exercise. While studying at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), Dr. Woods served as Secretary and President of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA). She was a member of and served as Secretary for Sigma Sigma Phi Osteopathic Honor Fraternity. After residency, Dr. Woods earned her Board Certification in Emergency Medicine, then went on to hold the positions of Assistant Director, then Director of the Emergency Departments at St. Joseph Hospital in Warren and University Hospitals Richmond Medical Center. While holding these clinical positions, Dr. Woods was also a member of the teaching faculty for the Emergency Medicine Residency programs. Most recently, Dr. Woods completed a Cosmetic Dermatology Fellowship with Dr. Lydia Parker at The Parker Skin and Aesthetic Clinic. During this year, she worked closely with Dr. Parker in both a didactic and clinical capacity. She also attended conferences, participated in workshops and participated in hands-on training sessions with renowned faculty. Dr. Woods’ main interests outside of the office include travel and culture. She has volunteered for several international medical missions, including missions to El Salvador and Ethiopia.
