Dr. Houdek has relocated to Tucson from Detroit where he was a clinical professor at Michigan State University. He was the team orthopedic consultant for Catholic Central High School. As part of his fellowship training he assisted with the orthopedic care for the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Pistons, and Detroit Red Wings.
His practice specializes in the surgical care of sports injuries including the shoulder and knee. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine with a focus on shoulder and knee arthroscopy as well as shoulder joint replacement and fracture care. He has a particular interest in ACL reconstruction and rotator cuff repair.
Dr. Houdek enjoys working with patients to solve their orthopedic problems. He will discuss and review the diagnosis as well as treatment plans and the likely prognosis. This usually begins with a non-surgical treatment plan that only progresses to surgery as a last available option.

I had to wait an hour despite the fact that I had a (;00 appointment. The administrative staff called and asked duplicate info even though I completed the zocdoc form online. I then had to reiterate all of the zocdoc info on a multi-page form when I arrived at the office.
The doctor himself was very informative, but his cell phone kept receiving phone, text or email messages (at least 20) and beeping during the 15 minute consultation. I was also surprised that he relied on a small tablet (ipad?) to review my x-rays rather than something larger with more definition.
