In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs?
I feel that the Primary Care Provider serves as a bridge between the patient and the broader healthcare community, helping to explain situations, provide opportunities, and encourage appropriate decisions. Ideally, these relationships should be partnerships.
What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider?
I appreciate working with individuals to maximize their own health, encouraging a combination of time-tested holistic practices and evidence-based interventions. I have enjoyed working with inclusive and diverse populations in different local and international settings and am excited to see how telehealth might meet the contemporary needs of the patients and providers.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I am currently living in the Pacific Northwest while I attempt to complete a PhD in Medical Anthropology. Recently, we returned from Aotearoa / New Zealand where I hope to return. In every environment, I explore through hiking, listening to music, finding delicious food and beverages, and generally enjoying what is available--as constrained by public health concerns, of course.
