With his long history of community involvement, Dr. Christopher Santora is the type of deeply-invested family physician to whom patients return time and again. He is committed to his craft, and patients truly appreciate how closely he listens during visits. He serves the Port St. Lucie, FL area in a private practice setting, where he and his co-staff work to create a friendly and comfortable atmosphere.
Dr. Santora has been recognized a number of times for his friendly demeanor and efficient visits, winning awards like the Southeast Center of Excellence Award in Geriatric Medicine in 2006. He remains involved in the nuts and bolts of medicine, and his past roles include a three year stint as a member of the ECU Family Medicine Curriculum Committee, where he helped to determine curriculum focus. Dr. Santora also co-founded CANCARE: Cancer Patient Counseling Service – a renowned non-profit awarded Best New Community Volunteer Program in Dade County, Florida.
Before he dove into a community work, Dr. Santora attended medical school across two countries and cultures. At St. George’s Medicine he completed academic training in Grenada, and he performed clinical training in Brooklyn, New York. He then completed his residency in family medicine at Pitt County Memorial Hospital of East Carolina University and pursued a second year-long residency at VCU School of Medicine. He has since published a number of works, and he even served as editor from 2005-2006 for the OB/GYN Resident Guide at ECU Department of Family Medicine. He is happily-married with two children, and loves to spend time with his family in his spare time. He also enjoys outdoor activities and sports, and is happy to meet with patients in both Spanish and English.
