Dr. Welsch joined the Jackson Clinic in 1999, and has been a member since that time of the medical staff of Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, where he is currently the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Robotic Steering Committee and serves on the Medical Executive Committee. He also serves as the Chair of the Tennessee Section of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the professional society representing women's health specialists nationwide.
Dr. Welsch considers it a privilege to care for women though all phases of their lives - young adulthood, childbearing, mature adulthood, and the postmenopausal season. He is committed to providing personalized care to all the patients he has the opportunity to serve. His clinic offers the full spectrum of women's health services for obstetrics and gynecology - 3D/4D ultrasound, mammography, bone density testing, urodynamic testing, and in-office tubal sterilization (Essure procedure).
Dr. Welsch has a special interest and expertise in daVinci robotic-assisted surgery. In addition to performing the first robotic surgery – hysterectomy – in Jackson in 2009, Dr. Welsch is the first gynecologist in the mid-South to offer daVinci single-incision hysterectomy. He has also performed removal of scar tissue, treatment of ovarian cysts and masses, removal of uterine fibroids, and excision of endometriosis utilizing the benefits of robotic-assisted surgery. Dr. Welsch has completed over 500 robotic procedures, and is one of the most experienced benign gynecologic robotic surgeons in Tennessee.
