Dr. Randazzo is a board-certified neurosurgeon, a neuroendovascular specialist, and a partner at IGEA Brain, Spine & Orthopedics. He is one of few neurosurgeons dually trained in open neurological surgery and neuroendovascular treatments. He earned a degree in biology from Johns Hopkins University in 1997 and went on to attend the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Dr. Randazzo received the 2020 Physician of the Year award by the American Heart Association for his work on enhancing stroke care. He has published on the subject of current trends and breakthroughs on neurological issues, including in the world-renowned journal “Stroke”. In particular, Dr. Randazzo’s written work has focused on the treatment of intracranial aneurysms using coiling, flow diversion and the PipelineTM embolization device. He also offers presentations on new methods for treating neurological, spinal and neurovascular conditions. Dr. Randazzo is an active member of several national societies and local groups such as the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Medical and Neurosurgical Societies. He speaks Spanish and Italian. Combining both his passion for practicing medicine and an entrepreneurial spirit, he spearheaded the establishment of a comprehensive neuroscience center at Atlanticare for which he served as Division Director. He most recently held the position of Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University. His focus is equally balanced between treating aneurysms, general neurosurgery, neuroendovascular procedures, spinal cord injuries, and cranial and spinal tumor surgeries. He is also an expert in acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke treatment, including mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke.
