Connie Berhane, APN

Nurse Practitioner
40 S Clay St, East Bldg, Ste 210, Hinsdale, IL
Philosophy of Care As a nurse practitioner, my philosophy of care is rooted in compassion, respect, and evidence-based practice. I believe in treating the whole person—not just the illness—by considering the physical, emotional, and social aspects of health. I strive to build trusting relationships with my patients through active listening, shared decision-making, and education. My goal is to empower individuals to take an active role in their health and well-being, and to provide care that is accessible, inclusive, and culturally sensitive. Clinical Interests As a Family Nurse Practitioner, I have a strong interest in chronic disease management—particularly diabetes, heart disease and hypertension—as well as preventative care across the lifespan. I’m passionate about educating patients and helping them understand how small lifestyle changes can make a big difference in their long-term health. I also really enjoy working with deverse populations and building lasting, trusting relationships through primary care. Staying up to date with evidence-based guidelines and health promotion strategies is something I value so I can continue improving outcomes for my patients. Personal Interests Outside of being a nurse practitioner, I really value balance and staying connected to things that bring me joy. I enjoy traveling and seeing new places and learning about cultures, which helps me stay open-minded and curious—qualities I bring into patient care as well. I’m an avid reader and love getting lost in a good book, whether it’s fiction, autobiographical or something educational. I also unwind by watching movies with my family and spending time in my garden—it’s my way to relax and recharge. These hobbies help me maintain a sense of well-being and keep me grounded, which ultimately makes me a better provider.
