Connie Presson attended school at the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine located in Denver, CO where she received a Master of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She is certified as a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), which includes both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. She is licensed to practice Acupuncture in the state of Colorado. Connie is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Colorado.
Before attending Acupuncture school, Connie attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. There, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and Anthropology. She worked as a Naturalist and Environmental Educator in various locations around the southeastern United States. Through this career, Connie gained a deep appreciation for the natural world.
Connie’s background in education gives her the ability to instruct others on treatment plans, lifestyle changes, and dietary recommendations. With her background in Ecology, she likes to think of the human body as a microcosm of nature; our bodies have an ecology of their own. When the body’s internal ecology experiences imbalance, then discomfort, illness, and disease can be the result. Connie’s treatment methods focus on bringing the body’s ecosystem back into balance. She also appreciates the concept of synergy, where using multiple modalities of treatment work together to achieve results greater than the sum of their parts. Connie may use different acupuncture techniques together with herbs, cupping, or tui na to attain a synergistic effect.
Connie enjoys hiking, backpacking, camping, good food, and spending time with friends and family.
