The Doctor and the girls that did the different test before I saw him were extremely thorough and explained everything to me that they were doing, including the end results clearly. I don’t think I have ever had such a thorough exam. Everyone of the staff that I had interaction with were very friendly and helpful.

Was a seamless process. If I could suggest one minor improvement -- I got two texts during the day asking me to update my records. that was a positive: 1) I prefer email and 2) I'd prefer to fill these things out in the evening. email is my preferred notification channel as it serves as my "to do" list. texting is overwhelming and isn't a good "to do" list service

Dr. Bacas attended Drew University for his undergraduate studies before completing a Master of Biomedical Sciences (MBS) at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He then went on to complete his Doctor of Optometry degree at the State University of New York College of Optometry. Dr. Bacas has experience in the management and treatment of many ocular diseases, with interests in Dry Eye Disease, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, and Diabetic Retinopathy. He has extensive experience utilizing the latest treatments for Dry Eyes and Glaucoma, including the newest pharmaceutical options, biologic agents, and both medical and aesthetic skin treatments. In addition, Dr. Bacas has specialized training on the latest contact lens technology, including lenses to correct for astigmatism, multifocal contact lenses, and other “difficult-to-fit” modalities.
Dr. Bacas was one of the first eyecare professionals in the U.S. to be certified by CooperVision to provide MiSight 1-Day contact lenses, the first and only FDA-approved soft contact lens for the treatment of myopia. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians, and the American Diabetes Association.
Dr. Bacas strives to provide high-quality, patient centered care. He understands the importance of ensuring that his patients leave with a complete understanding of their health by utilizing the latest technologies, providing education throughout the exam, and addressing all questions. In his free time, Dr. Bacas enjoys spending time with his wife and their two dogs, working on various IT projects, cooking, and playing his tenor sax.

I think Dr. Bacas is just wonderful. He is extremely knowledgeable and a clear communicator. He does not take any longer than is necessary, which I appreciate too, because most of the time medical things can be explained pretty quickly but aren't always. He takes time thoroughly when a question is asked, and does not hurry through things, but yet manages an efficient appointment. I liked him so much, that I requested him again. Highly recommend.

I've seen two of their opticians and both were patient, compassionate, very knowledgeable, and authentically committed to my ocular health. In fact, everyone I dealt with—from the check-in person to the tech guy to the optometrist to the desk staff—was very kind and helpful. They also seemed kind to each other. Everything was fine. Friendly staff, modern office and a pleasant eye exam. I was not told there would be expenses that were not covered by my insurance, even though I called beforehand and confirmed they accepted my insurance. Then I was not given the prescription at the end of the exam. When I inquired about contact lenses I was told their “protocol “ was to charge me $200.00 to show me how to put them in. Nice place, friendly staff but in the end it just seemed like a money grab.

First appointment in a couple of years for a checkup and prescription update. Office staff were friendly and competent, and the testing equipment is modern and automated. The eye exam was quick and easy, and Dr. Bacas was great. I got good help picking out new frames and understanding the full price after insurance. I highly recommend Madison Eyes!

I haven't been to an opthalmologist in probably over 10-15 years. I highly recommend this office. I don't recall ever having some of the tests they did completed (pictures of retina, pressure test etc). It was a great experience, and no need for dilation drops so quick, too! Glasses were recommended and I had a phenomenal experience with the optician. I highly recommend and will be scheduling a second opinion for my son at this office as well. Thank you!
