What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider?
Providing evidence-based care to my patients to keep them healthy is a priority. Health promotion and disease prevention for our youth is of great importance as they transition to adulthood, giving them the best information to make informed decisions about their health. I hold a Master's in Family Nursing from Maryville University, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support patients across the lifespan.
In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs?
The role of a primary care provider is to get to know their patient and their support systems so that together the team can come up with feasible plans for healthy living. The primary care provider should also serve as an advocate for their patient and provide support with boundaries.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I am married with three children and love to spend my spare time attending my children's sporting events (basketball, baseball, ballet). I also enjoy self-care days that include massage, receiving manicures and pedicures, and brunch with friends is a must as well.
