Dr. Kooima received her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Michigan. She earned her medical degree at Michigan State University where she graduated with honors. She completed her orthopedic residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. She is fellowship-trained in Sports Medicine. Dr Kooima takes care of a variety of sports injuries as well as general orthopedics. She is also trained in the developing field of hip arthroscopy.
Dr Kooima is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic surgeons, the Western Orthopedic Association, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Her outside interests include biking, skiing, walking her dog, travel, watching movies, and reading.
