About Dr. Daniel Cooper

Dr. Cooper, a California native, graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California at Riverside followed by a Masters Degree in Public Health from UCLA. He earned his Medical Doctorate from Wake Forest University School of Medicine while on scholarship from the U.S. Navy. After completing his surgical internship at Naval Medical Center San Diego, Dr. Cooper volunteered to provide medical support for U.S. Marine Corps Infantry out of Camp Pendleton as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During eight months in Falluja, Iraq as a Battalion Surgeon he himself was injured in the line of duty, distinguishing himself as the first U.S. Navy physician awarded the Purple Heart in nearly 30 years. Following his service to the Marine Corps he completed his Urology residency at Naval Medical Center San Diego, one of the largest military medical centers in the world. After graduating residency, Dr. Cooper was transferred to Naval Hospital Jacksonville, FL. There he served as Chief of Urology for the past four years prior to returning to his home in the Southwest as a member of the Affiliated Urology team.
Dr. Cooper is an experienced robotic surgeon, having established the robotic urology program at Naval Hospital Jacksonville as well as Orange Park Medical Center in North Florida. Additionally, he has broad general urological expertise to include genitourinary cancers, stone disease, prostatic enlargement, erectile dysfunction, incontinence, infertility, vasectomy reversal, and prosthetic surgery.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology. He is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine, Uniformed Services Un

Yes, definitely would choose to see Dr. Cooper for any urological needs. He was cordial, well prepared as he had read reports, listened well, asked very appropriate questions and gave a good evaluation and diagnosis of the condition, with suggestions. Being an elder, who has seen many health care professionals thru the years, in addition to working in health care, I would rate Dr. Cooper at the top of many excellent providers seen. No issues with this visit at all; excellent pleasant, efficient office staff. Highly recommend them all!! Thanks.
