Dr. Dowswell is a graduate of the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Services in Des Moines, Iowa where he was scholastic All-American and was honored with a National Collegiate Medical Professions award. He served his internship and three years of residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Dr. Dowswell then served as Chief Resident for one year at Mesa General Hospital. He joined the practice in 1994, and became board certified in 1999.
Dr. Dowswell has had extensive additional training in minimally invasive gynecological procedures from in office sterilization procedures for heavy periods to outpatient cervical procedures including the Davinci robotic hysterectomy and treatment of pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. These types of treatments allow women to have effective treatment of gynecological conditions while minimizing pain, recovery, and disruption of normal function.
