Dr. Daniel Kwon is a fellowship trained head and neck cancer surgeon specializing in Thyroid and Parathyroid surgery. He is an Assistant Professor in the USC Keck School of Medicine, Department of Otolaryngology and is the Director of Head and Neck Endocrine Surgery.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Kwon moved to California to complete his Otolaryngology residency at Loma Linda University. He then went on to New York City for fellowship training in head and neck cancer, microvascular reconstruction, and robotic surgery with Dr. Eric Genden and Dr. Brett Miles at Mount Sinai Hospital. After completing fellowship, Dr. Kwon returned to join the faculty at Loma Linda University. There he worked alongside Dr. Alfred Simental, one of the foremost thyroid cancer surgeons in the country, before joining USC to help establish the USC Thyroid Center of Excellence.
Dr. Kwon believes in a philosophy of whole person care and patient-centered treatment planning. In order to minimize the burden on patients, he offers services such as same day in-office biopsy and point-of-care ultrasound. Dr. Kwon is one of the only comprehensive thyroid surgeons who can offer the full range of services from minimally invasive thyroidectomy to major open microvascular reconstruction.

Dr. Kwon is fantastic, he's thorough, professional and spent over 10 straight minutes interrogating me as he attempted to make a diagnosis. He also fished a camera down my nose into my throat/neck and gave me a detailed analysis of my neck health. We didn't conclusively figure out what the problem was, but he was far more helpful than other doctors I've seen for this problem, and gave me a series of steps I can take to exclude certain causes.

Didn't listen to my concerns about my ear troubles and told me to "Take Zzzquil", which did nothing and has not helped at all. He charged me double a car payment for literally not listening to me and walking out of my room in under 5 minutes, I timed the entire thing. Do not go to him for specific ear issues, he will not help you and charge you a lot. I met with a MUCH BETTER doctor that has helped me immediately and at an actually reasonable amount (with insurance). Then I contacted USC health and they told me they would reduce my bill by 10%, but no they are trying to send me to collections after I have confirmation of 10% reduction but no actual action taken. This has been terrible

The office staff was what you can expect. The doctor listened to my story - the reason I was there. I wanna make sure he got all the details so he could do a proper diagnose of my pain. He was a little bit impatient and tried to speed my story. He said he was going to prescribe some nasal spray for me but, he never told me where to pick it up and the lady in the office didn't know anything. I left and will probably not come back.

Very nice front desk staff! really ends there. This doctor is a cancer specialist so if you want to feel like your condition is insignificant compared to what he’s seen, have fun going to him. He’s not a regular ENT. I’m not sure why the office doesn’t explicitly say this, but they don’t, so they waste your time.
This is the 3rd male doctor over 12 years that’s just given me nose drops without even doing any other diagnostics. My issues deserve actual diagnostics.
I won’t be coming back to this office. Also, the nurse made a rude comment about ‘how many medications’ I’m on, so that sucks. If you have cancer, go here. If you don’t, book elsewhere

Incredible doctor. Listened to my concerns and immediately looked and saw the issue I’m having and diagnosed me. Ive seen other ENT and he is the only one who not only did not try to upsell me the balloon procedure other ENT have, but helped me figure out what I can actually do for the issues I’m having. I consulted with Dr Daniel Kwon regarding thyroid cancer nodule surgery. He took the time to answer all our questions and much more. He is very knowledgeable, understanding and compassionate. He explained all possible options and goes into details. Compassionate, kind and caring. He even hand wrote his email address on his business card, in case we still had more questions. No doctor I have consulted with over the years, has ever done this, He was very reassuring and is very reachable. His administrative staff called to confirm appointment and emaiied the paperwork that needed to be completed. Also, he hand wrote the direct phone number of his admin assistant in case we needed anything else. I highly recommend him. Thank you Dr Kwon for a most pleasant consult experience.

The office was running behind and some previous patient had some issues that needed more attention so the delays in being seen made sense. They were kind and accommodated everyone as best they could.
For the actual consultation I had a very thorough exam which is what I wanted and got all the information I needed regarding my issues from previous surgeries. I wish I had asked a few more questions but I forgot by the time I was seen. Either way the consultation was worth going to.
