I was very depressed when I first saw Dr. Paul. I had fallen into a deep back hole and I couldn't get out. I didn't know why I felt the way that I did. I just felt there was this bone crushing force and I didn't want to get out of bed. I was amazed at how quickly Dr. Paul understood the causes of my depression. I felt a horrible weight lifted off me after the first session. I felt hope.

I felt I hit a wall in my life. I was always feeling attacked by my wife and I was non functional in my work. Dr. Paul's warmth, gentle understanding and penetrating insights gave clarity where there was confusion. I saw a way out after the first session. He is extremely bright and caring.

A committed and passionate psychoanalyst, Daniel Paul, Ph.D., F.I.P.A., is compassionate, thorough, and easy to talk to. He is skilled in assessing the needs of his patients and directs the amount of feedback he gives via queues from the patient. Ultimately, he believes that change is facilitated when a person feels cared about and listened to.
With a special interest in the psychoanalysis of romantic love, Dr. Daniel Paul researches the “barriers to loving” and “how romantic love can change a life.” Additionally, he treats patients struggling with depression, the aftermath of childhood abuse, borderline personality disorder, dissociative states, eating disorders, psychosis, and schizophrenia. He is happy to perform marriage counseling as well as individual counseling.
Dr. Paul currently teaches at the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies (LAISPS) and University of California, Los Angeles. He has lectured and taught at several other schools including New York University.

My marriage had broken up, I was crushed, heartbroken, and completely at sea as to what to do in my life. Dr. Paul quickly got to the root of what my difficulties were in the first session and helped me see things completely difficulty. Words can't express the gratitude I feel for his skill and kindness.
