I haven’t seen Dr Obanion in 2 years now due to moving but still to this day she was the only doctor I’ve felt who took time to listen and care for my WHOLE health and not just today’s symptoms. She never made me feel like nothing was wrong etc... she is exactly who primary care physicians should be.

One of the best doctor’s appointments I’ve ever had. Dr. O’Banion was splendid, she was honest, open, easy to talk to, she listened to my questions and concerns and took the time to address them properly. I have never been a fan of visiting the doctor but she was fantastic and I would absolutely recommend.

Danielle O'Banion has been a Primary Care Physician caring for children and young adults at Fenway: South End since 2016. Her priority is helping the LGBTQIA+ community by offering gender- and sexuality-affirming health care.
She has a BA in History from Louisiana State University, MS in Biotechnology from Georgetown University, and an MD from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She completed her residency at the Tufts University Family Medicine Residency at Cambridge Health Alliance in 2015. She is also certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and a member of both the International Society for Sexual Medicine and the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health.
Danielle’s clinical interests include wellness, sexual health, and gender medicine. She offers long-acting contraceptive services, including IUD and implant placement. She is also able to treat a number of sexual medicine concerns, such as low desire, pain with intercourse, and impaired sexual satisfaction. I can see why other people like her, and I don’t want to discourage anyone from seeing her, but I felt very rushed. I tried to tell her about my insurance problems and she told me she didn’t need to hear about it. Then later she wrote me a referral to a doctor who I can no longer see because of those insurance problems. I want to be clear that she wasn’t rude, but more like someone trying to skip ahead a decade into relationship.

I am completely speechless. I've never received care like this! Dr. O'Banion makes you feel like you have a friend, advocate and adviser. She'll tell you like it is, and help you every way she knows how. She has a wonderfully frank, attentive, energetic bedside manner. At the end of the appointment I asked her to be my PCP.

My appointment with Danielle was the best experience I've had at a doctor's office to date. She was instantly welcoming and her sense of humor made me feel comfortable right away! She took the time to get to know me, never made me feel rushed, and showed interest in all areas I wanted to discuss. I wasn't embarrassed to ask about anything because she never made me feel silly or awkward, and had me schedule a follow up appt right after so that we could check in on some of my questions without me feeling like I had to rush into any decisions regarding medications, next steps, etc. I highly recommend her!

Was taken back within 5 min of my arrival to the office. Dr. O'Banion seemed uninterested in my problems or reason for visit, and I was immediately told we needed to make this visit quick as we only had 20min. Since when are doctors office appointments timed? She was condescending, rude and was lacking bedside manner. As a healthcare professional myself, I felt she did not show any genuine interest in taking care of me. She made me feel as if my problems were not actually a problem at all and that I was wasting her time as well as mine. I couldn't even stand to finish the appointment, I left abruptly. As a patient and a nurse, I would suggest Dr. O'Banion brush up on her bedside manner and understand that "normal" is not the same thing for every patient. I will most certainly not be returning.

Dr. O’Banion is friendly and welcoming. She took her time to discuss issues. I liked that she had a very pragmatic approach to the exam- she said, “I generally do or don’t do X for a reason. But if you prefer a different approach, we can do that.” She also clearly communicated a plan and asked my consent and alignment to the plan, and at each step of the process.
The overall practice seemed busy but not excessively so- I did not need to wait hours nor did it make Dr O’Banion seem rushed. And appointments were available within a reasonable timeframe when I was booking.

This was by far the best doctors appointment I've ever had. Fenway Health is inviting, I arrived early and they brought me back ten minutes before my appointment time, and then Dr. O'Banion was amazing. 12/10 would recommend! She was incredibly friendly, down to earth, spent time just talking with me and getting to know me, and established a completely judgment-free and comfortable environment from the minute she walked in. I honestly hate going to the doctor, and rarely find a doctor that I connect with, or that values a connection with me. A+++.

Amazing doctor who makes you feel totally comfortable, and who is completely non-judgmental. She really wants to help with any issues and make sure that you're comfortable with whatever's being done. I hate going to the doctors, but Dr. O'Banion lightens the mood in all uncomfortable moments. Also, my appointment began right on time. Definitely recommend to anyone who hates doctor visits!
