Dr. Pinkas is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic surgeon as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). She also has additional subspecialty qualification, training, and many years of experience in surgery of the upper extremity. She is a member and Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery (AAOS), and also a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Society (ASES). She has published many Orthopaedic articles and book chapters, and also reviews submitted articles for both the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Arthroplasty. In 2022,Dr. Pinkas served as an Instructor at the AAOS/ASES Anatomic and Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty Course.
Dr. Pinkas grew up in Tampa, Florida, and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Miami in 2003. She received her medical doctorate from the University of Miami in 2007, after which she completed her Orthopaedic Residency at Montefiore/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. In her final year of residency she was a Chief Resident in the program. She then went on to complete an Adult Reconstruction- Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship at the renowned William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Orthopaedic issues can be very debilitating, and each patient’s individual needs and goals of treatment can vary tremendously.Dr. Pinkas specializes in the comprehensive management of all Orthopaedic disorders through both nonoperative and operative means. When surgery is necessary, she is meticulous and facile in operations using arthroscopy, minimally-invasive surgery, complex reconstruction, and replacement. Dr. Pinkas has spent over 10 years treating a wide variety of Orthopaedic disorders of the upper and lower extremities including sports injuries, fractures, ligament/tendon injuries, and arthritis in patients of all ages. She specializes indiagnostic and therapeutic arthroscopic surgery, fracture care, tendon repair, and upper extremity surgery.
