All Doctor's appointments should be this quick , professional and pleasant.
As a long time patient of Dr. Rigel '93 I can truly say that I have never had a bad experience with him. The worst that could happen is you may have to wait a few minutes because he is so popular.
Dr. Rigel is an excellent diagnostician and an expert in his field. His non-alarmist manner instills confidence in his patients.
Dr. Rigel is amazing- so friendly and so thorough, he is amazing!
Professional, polished and polite.
The usual excellent care and thoroughly professional treatment. It's been 29 years with Dr. Rigel and I hope he never retires!
Professional and kind
Excellent pleasant professional experience. Couldn't be better!
excellent. Very good approach with patient. Highly professional staff. Efficient, clean in explanations and emphatic
Best Dermatologist I've ever had. A true professional who leads in skin cancer treatment. Also, ask for Lisa as your nurse. She's amazing.
Dr Rigel is knowlegeable and engaging. I feel very confident in his care.
For over 5 years, Dr. Rigel has been an excellent and caring doctor, otherwise I would have switched!
I've been Dr. Rigel's patient for over 20 years. He's an extraordinary physician and a great person. He also treats the Yankees, which puts him on the A-team in my opinion!
My visit with Dr. Rigel went very well. It was a check up after surgery and he was very thorough and answered all my questions. He is a great doc and his staff is amazing as well! Especially Lisa who is very professional and helpful. I highly recommend him and his staff to anyone! Thank you! :)
Dr Rigel is an expert in his field. He has a professional and warm bedside manner. I received excellent care.
Although I am confident that Dr. Rigel is an excellent physician, I am disappointed at each visit because he is always in a rush to move along to the next patient. Although I can wait in the examining room for more than 15 minutes, I feel that I have to rush to list the things I wish to discuss.
Seeing Dr. Rigel was a pleasant experience from start to finish. The entire office was very friendly and helpful, and I was brought to a room after only a couple of minutes of wait time. As a slightly paranoid first-time patient, I asked Dr. Rigel a ton of questions. He was polite and thorough in answering all of them, putting me at ease and also informing me of ways to keep my skin healthy. Highly recommend.
Dr. Rigel is a superb physician and a kind man.
Dr. regal is one of the top dermatologists in the United States and I couldn't be more pleased that he is my dermatologist.
As always I value his expertise as others before him weren't as diligent in skin care exams
I was there for a complete skin exam which I need every 6 months since I have a large birthmark and freckles. He does a complete inspection referring to his previous notes to see if anything has changed. I am very relieved when I walk out of there.
These guys continue to impress! Thanks Lisa and Dr. Rigel!
Dr. Rigel is my favorite doctor!
He is a doctor's doctor. I highly recommend him for his expertise, bedside manner and the professionalism of the entire office.
Prompt. thorough and professional. Excellent!
Dr. Rigel is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to explain everything until you are completely comfortable with your procedure or course of treatment. Lisa is also extremely knowledgeable and supportive. She reinforced everything Dr. Rigel explained to me and went the extra mile to make me comfortable before, during and after both of my procedures so far. I am thankful not to have too many other medical experiences to compare this to but I can tell you that I recommend these guys to everyone and could not be more satisfied with the level of care, office conditions and experience with support staff. These guys are on the right track and I feel extremely fortunate to be in their care.
I found the office staff very nice and caring. Lisa was especially helpful and informative. And Doctor Rigel was very professional and curteous.
Excellent, efficient, clear and helpful
I have been going to Dr. Rigel for more than 25 years. he is the consummate professional and I trust him completely. I have had several skin cancers of differing types and he is always thorough in exams and clear about what needs to be done. he treats all his patients with kindness and compassion and is available for consults when needed.
Dr. Rigel is highly competent, professional and personable - all the qualities one would want in a doctor.
I have absolute trust in Dr. Rigel. I have gone to him since I first met him when I was an editor at HEALTH Magazine in over 30 years ago.
very professional and reliable , I trust his judgment and treatments. I will highly recommend him for my family and friends
Again, I wish to commend Dr. Rigel and his staff, in particular, Lisa and Carol. He is a top expert in skin cancer, and he is compassionate and communicates well so that the patient does not feel afraid. Lisa and Carol both are very experienced and make the patient feel comfortable. Lisa gave me a shot to numb the area, and I hardly felt anything. She explained the procedure to me very well. These staff members are like family! They know me and my family. They are essential!
Dr. Rigel is excellent and so is his assistant, Lisa. She is skilled and compassionate. She knows Dr. Rigel's patients, and she is interested in us. When she gave me a shot to numb my arm, I hardly felt it. Her instructions to me were clear and thoughtful. Dr. Rigel is, of course, an outstanding experts in his field. He also is very kind to his patients. It is to his credit that he works with such excellent and experienced assistants as Lisa and Carol. I have known them all for many years, and I recommend them highly. Skin cancer is a scarey thing. They make you feel comfortable!
very pleased will return
Always in most competent hands!
Dr Rigel is a very talented and knowledgeable diagnostician and doctor especially with skin cancer which is the reason I see him. Any skin issue I have or have had was diagnosed and treated with success. He detected precancerous cells in an area smaller than a pencil eraser and mentioned 2 stitches needed, which turned out to be 7. Due to my nervousness of the coming process I forgot to ask my questions which follow: 1. What type of precancerous cells were detected? 2. Was it possible to have them burned/frozen off? 3. Why so many stitches for so small an area? 4. Can I have a copy of the lab report? At the end his nurse, Lisa gave me some supplies and verbal instructions, I do not remember what to do with the alcohol pads. It would have benefited me, if when the nurse or doctor discussed post care that they give out a sheet with the post care instructions that include what to do if other issues occur that need answers before the next business day. It might be beneficial to other patients as well. Thank you. With best regards, Judith
He kept his scheduled appointment with me. I appreciated that he was on time! He was professional and very informative with a personable easy to talk to demeanor.
I have been going to Dr. Rigel for over 20 years. While sometimes the wait can be long, this time I was seen almost immediately and he was able to take the time to perform a surgical procedure even though I hadn't booked the time for such an appointment. I really appreciated that. He is genuinely caring about his patients.
Dr. Rigel is a real take charge guy. Competent would describe him in one word. I felt I was in very good hands.
Always a pleasure to see Dr. Rigel. He is always upbeat and very knowledgable. Always feel like I'm in very good hands.
Very pleasant and professional. Dr.Rigel and his staff were all very nice and explained each procedure. Also the doc worked fast and efficiently. He was done before I realized it.
I am a registered professional nurse with many years of both clinical and administrative experience - but when I am a patient ( as I was yesterday) in a new setting, meeting a new physician to whom I was referred by an NYU physician colleague of his, I am a nervous Nellie like anyone else. I was made to feel as if I was a bit of an annoyance to a busy man who had more important things to attend to or people to see. I suspect if I'd had a concern about having a melanoma, I would have been treated differently. I will advise my referring MD of my experience as well. I will however, based on Dr. Rigel's CV and experience in an academic setting, refer patients with concerns about melanoma who may ask for my input. I am frequently asked to recommend doctors to friends, acquaintances and colleagues.
I have been a patient in this office for a number of years. I travel for close to an hour and a half to see the doctor. My exam always requires comparing slides of the past to where I am physically at the time of examination. Needless to say it was very disappointing to find that a "light bulb" on the slide machine was out and the thorough examination I expected was unable to be done. Yes, I was examined. But, I question if maybe something could have been missed??. The doctor says everything looks fine. That extra step of comparing would have made "me"more certain.
I like him. He knows what he's doing, is pleasant and gets me in and out. The one time he was not sure about what he was looking at, he sent me to another MD. That is to his credit. I'm a fan.
Dr. Rigel is a brilliant and compassionate MD. A world expert!
I personally liked Dr. Rigel but the office was in a chaotic situation because they had just moved back into their bright, white shiny office after being away for a time - so have to take my FIRST time appointment with a grain of salt. Assistants were a bit flustered though well-meaning. I also love the fact that Darrell Spencer Rigel has the first two names of my favorite NY Mets Baseball player from the 1960's Daryl Spencer - utility infielder.
