Dr. David Boyd earned his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University, his Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the Joint Military Intelligence College, and his Doctor of Medicine from the Uniformed Services University. He completed his dermatology training within the National Capital Consortium in Bethesda, Maryland. He was on Active Duty in the U.S. Navy for 25 years, first as a Naval Flight Officer, and later as a Flight Surgeon and Dermatologist. He has been in Jacksonville, Florida since 2008, and retired as a Commander in 2012.
Dr. Boyd is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology. His primary interests include the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, as well as all aspects of medical dermatology. He has a particular interest in the treatment of follicular-based skin conditions.
Dr. Boyd is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American Medical Association and the Association of Military Dermatologists. He served as President of the Jacksonville Dermatologic Society in 2012. He has held an academic appointment in Dermatology at the Uniformed Services University for more than five years, and has multiple
articles and presentations to his credit.

The process of getting him in to see Dr Boyd was great! Just wish the doctor had given more options to my son for acne. He went right to the Accutane which we will try and hope it works! He is very thorough and going by the strict protocol needed for that medication. Thank you for taking David as a new patient.
