Dr. Speiser has been practicing ophthalmology on Long Island for 14 years. He graduated medical school from SUNY Downstate, and performed his residency at Catholic Medical Center of Brooklyn and Queens, an affiliate of Albert Einstein Medical School. He is board certified and the director of ophthalmology at Franklin Hospital.

My visit with doctor Speiser was great. The staff was friendly. My registration was very quick and I was seen with in less than 10 minutes. Dr. Spieser's partner was friendly and was on point with my eye examination for my contact lenses. I saw Dr. Speiser last for a diabetic eye exam. He explained the procedure well thank goodness everything went well. In the end we discussed follow up visits and he gave me very reasonable prices for my contact lenses. Overall it was a good experience I will definitely recommend his practice to family and friends.

I feel bad leaving a lukewarm review but I had a strange experience here. Dr. Speiser was extremely nice and caring but I got a strange feeling from the rest of his staff. The staff was nice but the people behind the desk didn't appear to be overly professional.
Also, the woman who did my initial eye evaluation started my exam without asking me any questions. Shortly after the start of the exam I mentioned some of my eye problems (the details of those issues were on my pre-arrival forms.) She got very angry with me and said to me "Well it would have been nice if you had told me that in the first place." In the end I was given a prescription that had numbers scribbled out and rewritten. After filling out the prescription I was left with eyeglasses that gave me a headache, this is the first time I have ever had an incorrect set of eyeglasses.
I have now had this pair of glasses for 9 months and I have been afraid to go back to them to get my glasses corrected. I just can't go back here but I really did like Dr. Speiser.
