Dayna’s interest in nutrition and health started when she was in high school. Growing up, Dayna developed some unhealthy habits around nutrition. She would get home from school and raid the pantry and before she knew it a whole bag of chips would be gone. One day, she decided she wanted to change that and began choosing healthier options, controlling portions, implementing regular physical activity into her everyday life. She began to feel amazing and energized all through simple lifestyle changes. There was no restrictive diet or vigorous exercise routine, just small changes that had a huge impact over time. This motivated her to start the journey towards becoming a Registered Dietitian to help others nourish and heal their bodies through food. Dayna believes that individuals deserve an individualized and patient-centered approach when it comes to their care. This approach encompasses every aspect of health by looking at the individual as a whole to get to the root cause of the problem. Dayna will provide you with the knowledge and support you need to be successful along your journey. Dayna specializes in weight management, diabetes, heart disease, healthy aging, and general well being counseling. Dayna graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Human Biology with an emphasis in Dietetics from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. Dayna went on to complete her dietetic internship where she had a rotation at the VA clinic doing outpatient nutritional counseling. After being in this role, Dayna developed a passion for nutritional counseling and helping individuals find their path to health. When Dayna is not working in her free time she enjoys running, biking, being outdoors, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. This provider is not licensed in the state of CT.
