Dean L. Fiergang, MD, FAAP, FACS, is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Drexel University, completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, and pursued a Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Fiergang is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as the American College of Surgeons and currently serves on the Executive Board of the Maryland Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Fiergang teaches resident physicians at both University of Maryland and Maryland General Hospitals.
He specializes in Pediatric and Adolescent Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus. Dr. Fiergang practices in Baltimore, Westminster, Clarksville, and Eldersburg, and is on staff at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, Sinai Hospital, Carroll County General Hospital, Maryland General Hospital, Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital, and St. Joseph's Hospital, where he provides ophthalmic care to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Dr. Fiergang made me and my five year old son very comfortable. He made him laugh which made him more willing to sit for his appointment. Dr. Fiergang explained everything very thoroughly and complete. I was able to understand why my son needed glasses and I feel like he really cares about my son's vision and wants to correct the issue.

Dr. Fiergang is awesome with kids. Both of my boys have seen him and they were both under 2. He was able to get them to cooperate throughout the entire appointment, which can be challenging with a couple of rambunctious little boys. I would highly recommend him. My only complaint has to do with the online forms. I spent 20-30min filling out all the forms online well in advance of my son's appointment only to arrive and find out that they were not in the system and I needed to complete the forms again.

We were done in an hour. And that was with dialation. Everyone was very professional and nice. I like nice. The doctor explained everything she was doing to my 15 year old son. This helped him understand and remain calm. He'd rather see the dentist than get his eyes checked. This exam was a positive experience for him.

Dr. Fiergang was so wonderful with my two year old. Who knew a doctor could be so great with kids and make the visit so fun for her. She loved every minute. I found a new eye doctor for the whole family.
