Ive had many opthamologists in my years and Dr Dean is the best period.
Never had to wait to get in and appointments are efficient and timely. Friendly and competent staff.
But it gets better. He is friendly, very detailed, stays up to date on the most recent research,focused, takes his time to explain and answer any questions. Never hurried. Pleasant, extremely competent (he teaches Opthamology residents at UCSF). Runs an excellent office. Strongly recommend.

We're spoiled in San Francisco. Lots of good doctors. Dr. Hirabayashi stands out as one of the best, as does his associated physician (whose name I unfortunately do not recall) and his office staff.

I have been seeing Dr. Hirabayashi for over 15 years and he has always been friendly, professional and methodical. I typically never wait more than 5 minutes to see him. I also always leave with free samples of eyedrops for my dry eyes. His office is also convenient to get to - located right next to Macy's in Union Square.
