Dr. Dean Mitchell earned his undergraduate degree at Hamilton College and his medical degree at State University of New York at Buffalo. After his internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, he completed his residency at the well renowned University of Michigan Hospitals in Ann Arbor. He was board certified in 1983 and subsequently founded the Cortland Eye Center in Cortland New York and had a long and successful professional career in private practice from 1982 to 2006. He was a clinical instructor at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY for over a decade. Since then he moved to Florida to work as a volunteer at Caridad Health Center until he joined faculty at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Florida where he still has active privileges. He is currently faculty at FAU School of Medicine. He practices general ophthalmology and specializes in cornea, cataracts and glaucoma.
