Deanna Sanders, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at Spectrum Behavioral Health under the supervision of Scott E. Smith, Ph.D. Dr. Sanders works with children, adolescents, and adults who experience a range of concerns including anxiety and panic disorders, depression, trauma, addiction, adjustment disorders, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, and intermittent explosive disorder. She also conducts psychological testing.
Dr. Sanders earned her Masters and Doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. She has experience working in inpatient, outpatient, and intensive outpatient settings. As part of her training, Dr. Sanders has completed three externships and one internship. She completed her internship at Pennsylvania Counseling Services where she provided mental health and addictions counseling, as well as completed psychological assessments.
Dr. Sanders primarily uses cognitive behavioral therapy to help people build new skills to manage and cope with problems and encourages them to consider problems from new perspectives. She also utilizes positive psychology to build on people’s individual strengths, as well as mindfulness meditation and motivational interviewing.
