Dr. Barbour has been my cardiologist for over 15 yrs. Her concern for me as a person keeps me driving 1-2 hrs to see her. She is knowledgeable, caring and honestly concerned about my health so I may live a long + healthy life!

Deborah J. Barbour, MD, FACC graduated from the University of Southern California and completed a Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. Her Cardiology Fellowship was done at Georgetown University Hospital. She was subsequently Senior Staff Fellow at The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute at the National Institutes of Health first in cardiac pathology and then in cardiology. She served as the Director of Coronary Care at Mercy medical Center in Baltimore for over 11 years and was a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Maryland Medical School when she won an Outstanding Physician-Teacher award in 1992. She is also a cardiologic consultant at the State Department. She has authored numerous articles in peer review journals and appeared frequently in "The Woman's Doctor" on Baltimore television. Dr. Barbour has special interests in clinical and preventative cardiology, cardiovascular disease in women, cardiomyopathies and vascular heart disease. She has been listed among the Washingtonian's Top Doctors.
