I am passionate about healthcare because it brings me great joy knowing the career I have chosen and work in daily can change someone's life. The ability to utilize my knowledge and skills to assist patients in improving their health means a lot to me, as the provider.
In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs?
Primary care providers are the first providers patients are usually connected with and it is very important to view and approach patients holistically. Our behavioral health and mental state have a direct connection to our physical health. Primary care providers are the group of providers that get the opportunity to care for the whole patient instead of one aspect of their health care needs.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my two daughters, binge-watching Netflix or Hulu, reading, and portrait photography. Spending time with my great-nephew is also one of my absolute favorite things to do on my off days.
