Dr. Dennis Hurwitz is the Clinical Professor of Surgery (Plastic) at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School and is the former director of the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Center in Pennsylvania. He has been recognized as one of America’s Top Physicians for specialist referrals and was the only plastic surgeon in Western Pennsylvania named in the 2001 Castle Connolly Guide. Dr. Hurwitz has innovated new techniques in obesity surgery, and is sought out worldwide, at his Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania office for the groundbreaking total body lift surgery.
Dr. Dennis Hurwitz is a diplomat to the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the prestigious American Association of Plastic Surgeons. He was medical director of the University of Pittsburgh Cleft Palate/Craniofacial Center and had the largest active practice of cleft lip and cleft palate patients in the region. His cleft work gave him skills he applies in all areas of facial and body redesign. He has also been president of several city, state, and regional plastic surgery organizations, including the Allegheny County Medical Society.
