What makes me passionate about being a provider is making a patient feel better. I know it sounds cliché, but I love to make patients smile and help them take good control of their health. I have been a Nurse Practitioner for five years now, having earned my Master's in Nursing from the University of Texas, and I still have the passion and drive that make me the provider I am today.
In my opinion, the role of a primary care provider is to be understanding of the patient and to take their thoughts and feelings into consideration when delivering optimal care. Engaging the patient in their care encourages greater compliance and supports both their physical and behavioral health needs.
A little about me: I have two boys and am married, so in my spare time I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy going out to eat with my friends. On weekends, my husband and I like to take the boys out for fun activities.
