A native of Chicago, Dr. Desai graduated from Northwestern University near Chicago and the University of Illinois Chicago Medical School with honors. He received his residency training in Otolaryngology at the University of Illinois Medical Center and is Board Certified. Dr. Desai received further training at the Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago with special focus in pediatric otolaryngology at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Desai joined the Head and Neck Surgical Associates in Wichita Falls and then moved to the Ear, Nose & Throat Clinics of San Antonio in 2000. Dr. Desai is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is fluent in Spanish and sees patients in our Northeast, Downtown and North Central locations. Dr. Desai sees adults and children for general ENT issues.

the wait was terrible. Had an appointment at 8:50, arrived 10 minutes prior. Waiting to be seen till 9:50 and out by 9:55. Then the prescription process to my pharmacy was terrible. Errors were made and prescriptions not ready.

I waited over 2 hours for my appointment, missing a lot of time at work. During that wait, a patient showed up 30 minutes late to his appointment and they still took him. I understand people are late, but draw the line somewhere. I don't deserve to sit in a freezing cold waiting room for over 2 hours especially when I spent literally less than 5 minutes with the doctor and my insurance got billed for an outrageous amount. I went back for my scope and spent another 5 minutes with the doctor and about 1.5 hours at the doctor for another outrageous bill. I won't be going back.

Dr. Desai was polite and knowledgable. I really liked him and my issue seems to have been resolved. My only issue was the ridiculously long wait. I went to the downtown location twice and waited longer than two hours both times. Both times it seemed like some unexpected events had arising, and I do understand that things happen. There was some confusion with my allergy testing that was mistakenly scheduled in office, when I needed to go to a lab for blood test. I made my fourth appointment for the Stone Oak location thinking that the downtown location might just be busy. I waited over an hour and ended up seeing the PA. I have several specialists and realize that excellent specialists take as much time with their patients as necessary. I am used to waiting 30-60 minutes, knowing my Dr. will spend the time with me that he spent with the earlier patients. Dr. D and the PA were both excellent and I recommend them. Can't say so much for the office management.
