Diane Plas is driven to help people move into spaces of wellness. She does this through providing the education and empowerment needed for people to make changes in their health. As part of a Harbor Health team, Diane relies on the collaborative process in creating and implementing health care plans, with the person receiving the care at the center of the collaboration. Diane has special interests in women’s health, bariatric management, medical weight loss and preventative care. She emphasizes getting to the root cause of illness and helping people make lifestyle changes that may decrease their number of medications and health care costs.
Diane brings more than thirty years of health care experience to Harbor Health. She worked in labor and delivery departments as an advanced practice registered nurse before she joined Ascension Seton Healthcare in Austin, Texas, where she held leadership positions helping people optimize wellness. As Bariatric Coordinator, she provided people with surgical, nutritional and psychosocial care. She also led the Community and Professional Outreach department and later was the Director of Strategic Operations for the Perioperative Surgical Home. She enjoys cooking for her family and friends, yoga, weight lifting, spinning and hiking with her husband.
