My friend recommended me too see Dr. Don Robinson. I cursed that I was WOWED by the technology he uses! Super modern and up to date! This was my first visit with him, and was planning to recommend my family and friends, when I learned that he's retiring at the end of this year! :-(

Dr. Robinson Graduated in 1975. Over the years, he has opened practices and consolidated them in the 2 locations he has now: South San Francisco and Redwood Shores.
Education has been his number one priority, as it reduces poverty. To that end, he has mentored OD grads and his staff to become clincally trained. Many previous associates and staff have moved on to open their own businesses. His charities and community involvement also involve education. He has supported the Child Abuse Prevention Society, Hunger Project, Seva, and his latest charity of choice Optometry Giving Sight. He has coached at all levels of baseball, softball and soccer. He sponsors the Park Boosters, Melodrama group, and softball, baseball, and soccer teams of his family. Over the years the office has donated over $120,000 to causes local and abroad.
In the late eighties, he was instrumental in the rapid changing face of contact lenses. He coined the name "frequent replacement contacts" in 1987. Dr. Don travels extensively (12 weeks a year) as a hobby and to seek different education venues. He takes about 80 hours of continuing education yearly. When home, you will find him working 7 days a week.
He has designed and imported eyewear and ran a company, it Eyewear, for over 12 years until 2010.
In 2004, he was asked to be the Bay Area administrator for Vision Source!, a network of 2,700 doctors nationwide who communicate on how best to care for patients and how best to work with laboratories. That has afforded him the opportunity to become a beta test site for many companies. One company, Synergeyes contact lenses, asked him to be on the advisory panel to help design a fitting guide more user friendly for doctors.
He is married with 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren.

I've seen him before back in 2006. I remembered having a great experience, so once I knew my new insurance coverage would cover his office I immediately made an appt! The girls there are great - very friendly and informative. Now I just gotta listen to the docs advice and I'm on my way to healthy eyes again! I can't wait to pick up my new specs!!! ;) ??

Great office staff, great utilization of technology beginning with making the appointment via the web, automated appointment email reminders, text message 1 hr before appointment, access to registration forms on the web so they can be completed before walking into the office, etc. Excellent software which eliminates almost all paper. Very transparent about each procedure and what it is for. Provides documented summary of visit and findings - one for your personal records and one for your physician. Dr. R is extremely compassionate and clear in explaining what he is doing, why and the test results. Walks you through pictures of your retina and how they can show early signs of hypertension, diabetes, macular degeneration, etc. Provides suggestions for foods & supplements for eye health, odds of contracting certain eye diseases, etc. Great follow up for after care items such as eyeglass delivery, etc. I will not go anywhere else!
