As a board certified otolaryngologist, Dr. Burt has more than 20 years experience in private practice, and has treated patients of all ages from allergies and sore throats to surgeries across the spectrum of ear, nose, throat needs. Patients travel great distances to seek his care for a variety of reasons. Performers who sing often won't go elsewhere after years of battling difficulties finding a specialist who understands their vocal needs. His areas of expertise within the field are vast, including sinus surgery, pediatric and adult allergies and laser surgeries, snoring, and diving medicine.
Dr. Burt earned his specialty certifications after completing the board exams following his residency years at Loma Linda University in California and training at Prince George's General Hospital residency program affiliated with the University of Maryland. He belongs to a long list of professional organizations including American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, and American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.
Throughout his medical career, Dr. Burt has served as Chief of Medical Staff at the original Saint Louise Hospital in Morgan Hill, Department Head of Surgery, and Task Force Chairs. He has volunteered heavily with the Boy Scouts of America, dedicating countless hours as a Scoutmaster providing CPR training, merit badge counseling, and camp physical exams. He has also dedicated many hours in the past providing medical care to programs such as Rotacare, and Peninsula Pop Warner athletic teams. He has been married for the past 29 years to his wife Joan and together they have three children, all whom reside locally.
