Dr. Donald Tavakoli is a licensed and board certified Psychiatrist serving the Main Line and Greater Philadelphia Area. He attended NYU for medical school and then completed his residency at the University of Pennsylvania where he was selected Chief Resident. He serves as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania where he is active in resident education and supervision. Dr. Tavakoli also serves as the Consulting Psychiatrist for Haverford College's Counseling Center where he has gained a lot of experience working with the developmental and emotional dilemmas that young adults face. Dr. Tavakoli sees adults in psychotherapy alone, for medication treatments, or both. He is a general psychiatrist, seeing a range of disorders, with a particular interest in the diagnosis and treatment of mood and anxiety disorders. Please note that Dr. Tavakoli is completely out of network for all insurance plans. He does provide a receipt for you if you choose to seek out of network reimbursement independently (where often a substantial amount of the appointment is reimbursed to you), but that decision is left to your discretion. Initial appointments are usually 75 minutes while all follow up appointments are 45 minutes.
