Dr. Douglas Wisch earned his medical degree at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School in Newark, where he also completed residencies in general surgery and orthopedic surgery, serving as chief resident and clinical assistant instructor. He completed a hand/microsurgery fellowship at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
He has given lectures and has authored professional articles on topics related to hand surgery. He is an attending physician at Bristol Hospital and at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, Conn., where he has served as chief of orthopedic service.
Dr. Wisch is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, with subspecialty certification in surgery of the hand.
