Dwight Phelps is a warm, friendly, and compassionate primary care doctor and emergency medicine physician. Dr. Phelps has been practicing emergency medicine at both the Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center and the Gulf Coast Hospital since 2002; before relocating to Florida, Dr. Phelps practiced emergency medicine in Colorado since 1984. He is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
Dr. Phelps began his medical education at Louisiana State University, graduating in 1977. Since then, Dr. Phelps was drawn to emergency medicine because of its ability to help those in immediate need and requires continuous study. Applying the necessary broad base of knowledge to his daily practice intrigued Dr. Phelps to bring his patients dedicated, thorough, and cutting-edge care.
When Dr. Phelps is not working with emergency care cases, he enjoys relaxing activities, such as boating and reading.

There was next to no time for me to ask questions, of which I had several. I was told "I will be right back" but he never returned, and I was left with many questions unanswered. I felt like I was just another number, and not a patient.
